A few years ago, I came across an article about attempts by the Allied Navies, during WW1 to camouflage naval and merchant ships.
They could not hide a ship, but they could use complex patterns to break up their outlines and confuse U-Boats about their size, type, heading and speed.
The development of Razzle Dazzle or Dazzle Painting was credited to the British artist Norman Wilkinson and consisted of geometric shapes in contrasting colours. Interrupting and intersecting each other.
My designs are not based on any actual ship design, but are my own take on the basic concept.
I have thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with patterns and perspective and hope you enjoy my endeavours.
The boat pictures are totally individual and mounted in quality 53.5cm x 23cm white box frames and are signed by the artist
